During The Art of Identification, an immersive forensic art experience, you and your guest will step into the fascinating world of forensic art with an exclusive, hands-on experience that explores how faces are reconstructed, remembered, and identified. Guests will work alongside a forensic artist to discover the techniques used by investigators to transform skeletal clues and eyewitness memories into recognizable human faces. The experience begins with Facial Reconstruction, where participants learn how the structure of the human skull can reveal important clues about age, sex, facial proportions, and distinctive anatomical characteristics. Using these clues, guests will try their hand at sketching facial features and watch as an unidentified skull begins to take on a human identity. Next, guests will explore the art of the Composite Sketch. Through an interactive demonstration, the forensic artist will explain how witnesses are interviewed and how memories — sometimes incomplete or uncertain — are translated into a recognizable face. Participants will experience firsthand the challenges of describing and reconstructing a person from memory. The experience becomes personal with the X-Ray Identity Portrait. Each participating guest will have a side-profile photograph taken and analyzed by the artist, who will create an artistic interpretation of what that individual’s skull might look like beneath their face. Guests will leave with their own personalized X-Ray Identity Portrait, a one-of-a-kind keepsake commemorating their experience.
