Citi Cardmember Presale Code: How to Enter It
There is no separate Citi Cardmember presale code. The code is the first six digits of your eligible Citi card number, entered without dashes in Ticketmaster's Unlock box. You then check out with that same Citi card, and that is the whole system.

How to enter your Citi presale code at Ticketmaster
Citi Entertainment is the front door, and per Citi's FAQ there is no sign-up and no login for the program itself. You browse events at citientertainment.com, and clicking one takes you to LiveNation.com or Ticketmaster.com, where your card's first six digits act as the passcode.
Per Ticketmaster's Citi Cardmember help article, the flow on the ticketing site is:
1. Sign into your Ticketmaster account.
2. On the event detail page, click or tap Unlock next to the tickets you want.
3. Enter the first six digits of your Citi card number, without the dashes.
4. Review the ticket details and select Next.
5. Check out using that eligible Citi card.
Ticketmaster is not validating a secret password somebody emailed you. It is checking whether those six digits belong to an eligible Citi card program, which is why the code needs no invite, no enrollment and no purchase history. Type a Chase or Capital One number in by mistake and the field rejects you, because it is another bank's card.
The card you enter is the card you must pay with. Whichever card's digits you type into the Unlock box, or whichever card you linked, is the card that has to clear at checkout. Mixing cards mid-flow is a common way a presale order dies at the final step, after you have already picked your seats.
What you need before the presale opens
Two requirements catch people out on onsale morning, and both come from Ticketmaster's help article rather than from the event page:
• A Citi Card account plus an active Citi Online account. The card by itself is not enough; the online account has to exist and be active. Registration is at citi.com.
• A card issued in the United States. Ticketmaster states that Citi Cardmember presale ticket access is not available for Citi cards issued outside of the United States.
Neither is something you can fix while a queue is moving, so check both the day before.
The other way in: linking your Citi and Ticketmaster accounts
For some events Citi asks you to link your Citi card account to your Ticketmaster account instead of typing six digits. As of September 2026, Ticketmaster's Citi Cardmember help article states that only a limited number of Citi Cardmember presales require you to link the two accounts, so linking is an additional route rather than a replacement for the code.
Per Citi Entertainment's account-linking page, the steps are:
1. Sign into your Live Nation or Ticketmaster account.
2. Under Connected Accounts, click or tap Connect for Citi Cardmembers.
3. Sign into your Citi card online account and select Authorize Access.
4. You are set for your next Citi presale.
Two things worth knowing. The link lasts up to a year, and Ticketmaster says you need to link at least once per year to keep access to future Citi Cardmember presales. On privacy, Citi states that linking permits it to give Live Nation and Ticketmaster your card type and partial account number, and that no other personal or financial information is provided.
The practical move is to link once, well ahead of a show you care about, so you are covered whichever method the event asks for.
Which Citi cards are eligible for presales
Citi publishes a rule rather than a card list. Per Citi Entertainment's FAQ, all Citi credit cards which display the Visa or Mastercard logo, and Citibank debit cards which display the Mastercard logo, are eligible, while Citi commercial cards including corporate and purchasing cards are not.

Notice what the rule does not do: it names no individual products and carves out no cobrands. A Citi AAdvantage Mastercard, a Citi Double Cash and a Citi Strata Premier all clear the same gate, because each carries a Visa or Mastercard logo and none of them is a commercial card. That is Citi's rule restated, not a ranking or a recommendation.
One nuance sits on top of it. Ticketmaster publishes a long list of Citi retail store credit cards, the AllModern and Big O Tires kind, that its account-linking process does not support. Those cards can still use the six-digit method; they just cannot get into an event that requires linking.
Why your Citi presale code was rejected
Work down this list before you go hunting for a different code.
• The presale has not opened yet. Codes do not work early. Check the window in the venue's local time.
• Wrong digits, or you included dashes. The first six digits of the eligible card only, no spaces and no separators.
• Wrong bank. A Chase or Capital One card number will never open a Citi unlock box.
• No active Citi Online account, or a card issued outside the United States. Both are stated requirements, and neither announces itself on the ticket page.
• A commercial card. Citi corporate and purchasing cards do not clear the gate.
• A linking-only event. If the presale requires account linking, six digits will not substitute for it.
• A 5005 error. Citi's own instruction is to call the number on the back of your eligible Citi credit card or Citibank debit card, verify your identity, then carry on with the purchase. It is an identity check, not a code problem.
• "No Tickets Currently Available." Citi says this means zero tickets match your search. On a busy presale, tickets sit held while other people browse, so refreshing can put inventory back in front of you.
One failure is missing from that list because it happens after the code works: checking out with a card other than the one whose digits you entered.
Capital One runs the same six-digit mechanic with its own eligible-card rules, walked through in the Capital One presale code guide. A note for Citi AAdvantage cardholders
If your eligible Citi card is a Citi AAdvantage Mastercard, it opens more than concert presales. The same card is your key into the Mastercard Priceless platform at priceless.com/aa, where AAdvantage members spend miles on experiences, from dining and lounge access to sport and travel.
That is a different market from a Ticketmaster presale. A presale gets you cash tickets early. Priceless lets you spend AAdvantage miles on things that are not for sale any other way. A presale puts you in a smaller queue. It does not create inventory, and on a big tour plenty of cardholders with perfectly valid codes still end up with nothing.
