Beyond flights, United's own "Use United award miles" page lists two places to spend miles on experiences, MileagePlus Exclusives and Broadway shows, and two for shopping, MileagePlus Merchandise Awards and Apple. For an event-minded reader, Exclusives is the main one: it sells experiences and ticket packages by auction and Buy It Now, and 113 of the 146 Exclusives listings we have tracked since mid-March 2026 mention tickets (as of October 18, 2026). MileagePlus Event Awards, the older United site for concert and sports tickets, is no longer on that page, and its address did not resolve when we checked on October 8 and 9, 2026.

Our United MileagePlus Exclusives page lists every Exclusives auction and Buy It Now offer we track, and you can search United listings that include tickets. Broadway, Merchandise Awards and Apple are checked on United's and its partners' own sites. If you are new to bidding miles, start with how point auctions work.

Where United miles go besides flights

United's Use United award miles page sorts the options into Travel, Shopping, Experiences, and Buy and transfer. As of October 9, 2026, the non-flight choices most useful to someone planning around an event are:

  • Experiences: MileagePlus Exclusives (auctions and fixed-price experiences, including ticket packages) and Broadway shows (through Audience Rewards)
  • Shopping: MileagePlus Merchandise Awards (physical goods) and Apple products, plus the MileagePlus X app for shopping with miles on a phone
  • Around a trip: hotels through United Hotels, cruises through United Cruises, Avis and Budget car rentals, Lyft rides, and a United Club membership
  • Giving: a separate site for donating miles to a cause

The sections below take the three that matter most for tickets and things to own: Exclusives, Broadway shows and Merchandise Awards. Then a short note on Event Awards.

1. MileagePlus Exclusives (exclusives.mileageplus.com)

Exclusives is United's experiences site, and it is the one we break down in detail in what United MileagePlus Exclusives is and how it works. United files its listings under six categories (Travel, Sports, Culinary & Dining, Arts & Culture, Entertainment, and Uniquely United) and filters them by member type (General, Premier and Cardmember), as of October 9, 2026. Some listings are open to every member; others say in the title that they are for Premier members or MileagePlus cardmembers only.

United's own Exclusives About page lists six ways to redeem there:

  • Buy now (Buy It Now): a fixed miles price, no bidding
  • Bid now: auctions, won by the highest bid at the end
  • 1 mile exclusives: experiences offered for 1 mile, first come, first served, for a very limited time (covered in United's 1-mile drops)
  • Raffles: miles buy entries into a draw for an experience
  • Philanthropic auctions: the miles redeemed in the auction are donated to a partner charity or nonprofit
  • Cardmember Events: reserved for United MileagePlus cardmembers (see the Cardholder Exclusives post)

In our own tracking, the cheapest priced United offers were not 1-mile listings. Since we started tracking United in mid-March 2026, the lowest prices we recorded were four 100-mile drop listings, posted between July and September 2026. The one exception was a second-chance entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, offered at 0 miles to select Premier members in June 2026. We have not recorded a 1-mile listing in that time, so treat the 1-mile tier as something United describes rather than something we have seen.

The listings mix formats, and auctions are the larger share. Of the 146 United MileagePlus Exclusives listings we have tracked since mid-March 2026, 80 were auctions and 66 were Buy It Now offers (as of October 18, 2026). We have not tracked a raffle.

Auction prices run wide. Across the 66 verified United auction closes we recorded through October 1, 2026 (each a final price United's own page confirmed after the auction ended), 21 closed under 50,000 miles and 11 closed above 500,000 miles. Three of those 11 were sessions of United's recurring flight simulator auction: 885,000 miles for the June 2026 session, 625,000 miles for July 2026 and 606,500 miles for October 2026 (those auctions closed April 14, May 27 and September 1, 2026). The full breakdown is in the simulator post. The other eight were trips: several built around Polaris or Business Class flights, plus two event getaways, a Chicago weekend to see Ariana Grande and the Emmy Awards trip below. The highest verified close was 1,036,000 miles, for a trip to the Emmy Awards in an auction that closed in August 2026.

Across every verified United auction close, the closing prices run from 5,000 to 1,036,000 miles, with a median of 92,500 miles across 68 verified closes (refreshed monthly).

Exclusives is also where United's event tickets for miles sit now, from game-day packages to concert suites. Of the 146 United listings we have tracked, 113 mention tickets in the title or description (as of October 18, 2026). So for a concert or a game, Exclusives is the first place to look.

2. Broadway shows (Audience Rewards)

United lists Broadway shows under Experiences on its use-miles page and links it to mileageplus.audiencerewards.com, the MileagePlus version of Audience Rewards, which calls itself Broadway's official rewards program. The Exclusives homepage carries the same Broadway shows tile.

How it works, per that site's "How it works" page (checked October 9, 2026):

  • Link the accounts first. To earn or use miles on Broadway, you need an Audience Rewards account number linked to your MileagePlus account.
  • Using miles: the site says you can redeem miles for Broadway tickets, and it shows award pricing only after you sign in to your MileagePlus account.
  • Earning miles: buying tickets through the site also earns MileagePlus miles, which post after the performance date. United's use-miles page puts it at up to 2,000 miles per ticket.

We do not track Audience Rewards, so we cannot say how its miles prices compare with Exclusives. On the Exclusives side, Arts & Culture is the category to watch for theater.

One nearby United ticket site works the other way. At united.vividseats.com, MileagePlus members earn 2 miles per $1 spent on tickets, and United Explorer, Quest and Club cardmembers earn 3 to 5, per that site's published rates (as of October 9, 2026). You pay with money there and the site publishes earn rates only, so it is a way to earn miles, not to spend them.

3. MileagePlus Merchandise Awards (mileageplusawards.com)

MileagePlus Merchandise Awards is United's catalog for physical goods, on its own domain, mileageplusawards.com. Its categories include Travel, Home & Living, Style & Beauty, Jewelry & Watches, Golf, Sports & Recreation, Electronics, Kids & Family, Kitchen, Wine & More, and Office, with brands such as Bose, Dyson, Tumi, Sonos, Canon and Garmin.

From the site's FAQ, checked October 9, 2026:

  • Who can use it: active MileagePlus members who live in the United States are generally eligible.
  • How you pay: award miles, or a mix of award miles and money.
  • Where it ships: the 48 contiguous US states. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico by exception, and orders cannot go to P.O., A.P.O. or F.P.O. boxes.
  • Returns: generally none, unless the item arrives damaged or defective.
  • Pricing: shown after you sign in; the homepage notes that you may be eligible for special pricing.

Apple products and gift cards have their own sites. United's use-miles page links Apple products to awards.mileageplus.com, and gift cards to MileagePlus eGift Cards at giftcards.mileageplus.com.

Is it a good use of miles? We do not put a single value per mile on it, because the answer changes item by item. Before you order, look up what the same item costs in cash at a regular store, then set that beside the miles price and against what those miles would get you on a flight or an Exclusives listing. Our guide to valuing points and miles walks through that comparison.

What happened to MileagePlus Event Awards

MileagePlus Event Awards was a separate United site at eventawards.mileageplus.com. United's Exclusives About page still lists it, describing it as a way to use miles for "the hottest concerts, sports events and more", and still links to that address.

What we found when we checked:

  • The address did not resolve. eventawards.mileageplus.com returned no DNS record on October 8 and 9, 2026, so the site did not load.
  • United's use-miles page no longer lists it. On October 9, 2026, its Experiences section listed only MileagePlus Exclusives and Broadway shows.
  • The Exclusives homepage leaves it out too. Its "Let your miles take you further" row showed Broadway shows and Merchandise Awards only.

United has not published anything we could find about the change, so we are not guessing at a reason. Taken together, Event Awards appears to be retired. For concert and sports tickets with United miles, Exclusives is where to look, and for Broadway, Audience Rewards.

Frequently asked questions

Can you still use United miles for event tickets?

Yes, mainly through MileagePlus Exclusives, which sells ticket packages by auction and Buy It Now: 113 of the 146 Exclusives listings we have tracked since mid-March 2026 mention tickets (as of October 18, 2026). For Broadway, United links to Audience Rewards, where miles can be redeemed for tickets once the two accounts are linked. The old Event Awards site, eventawards.mileageplus.com, did not resolve when we checked on October 8 and 9, 2026.

What happened to MileagePlus Event Awards?

It appears to be retired. Its address, eventawards.mileageplus.com, did not resolve on October 8 and 9, 2026, and United's "Use United award miles" page no longer listed it on October 9, 2026. The Exclusives About page still links to it. United has not published a reason that we could find.

Is MileagePlus Merchandise Awards worth it?

It depends on the item, so compare before you order. Look up the item's cash price at a regular store and set it beside the miles price, which the site shows after you sign in. Keep the limits in mind too. As of October 9, 2026, Merchandise Awards ships to the 48 contiguous US states (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico by exception), and it generally takes no returns unless an item arrives damaged or defective.

Does PointAuctions.com track all of United's non-flight options?

No. We track United MileagePlus Exclusives only: 146 listings since mid-March 2026, of which 80 were auctions and 66 were Buy It Now offers (as of October 18, 2026). Broadway shows, Merchandise Awards and Apple need to be checked on their own sites. For the Exclusives listings that are live, search them here, or browse past results in the closed archive.

How cheap can a MileagePlus Exclusives offer be?

United's Exclusives About page says it offers some experiences for 1 mile, first come, first served. In our tracking since mid-March 2026, the cheapest priced offers were four 100-mile drops, posted between July and September 2026. The one exception was a second-chance entry to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, offered at 0 miles to select Premier members in June 2026. We have not recorded a 1-mile listing.

What do United MileagePlus Exclusives auctions sell for?

Across the 66 verified United auction closes we recorded through October 1, 2026, the median verified close was 92,500 miles, and 21 of the 66 closed under 50,000 miles. The top verified close in that period was 1,036,000 miles, for an Emmy Awards trip in an auction that closed in August 2026. The full program breakdown is in what United MileagePlus Exclusives is and how it works.
